Shop Steward - (noun)


Shop stewards are elected by trade union members. They offer advice to members in the workplace and represent the members in dealings with management.

Example of Use: Jess was elected as a shop steward last year by her fellow trade union members. She finds out if her colleagues have problems in the workplace and then raises these issues with management.
