Give Notice - (verb + noun)

Definition

If an employer gives an employee notice, then the employer informs the employee that he or she must leave his or her position within a certain period of time. Equally if an employee decides to resign from their job, he or she gives his or her notice to the employer. We also say that employees ‘hand in their notice’.
