Definition

This can be defined as the right of employees to have a trade union or individual to represent them in negotiations with management on issues such as pay and working conditions.

Example of Use: Employee representation is often carried out by trade unions. However other bodies also represent employees in the workplace. ‘Works councils’ and ‘enterprise committees’ are two examples.
