Definition

Action taken by employees to put pressure on their employer by encouraging the public to abstain from using their products or services.

Example of Use: The employees organised a boycott of the firm’s products to force them back to the negotiating table. (Verb) After the employer started to use agency workers to break the strike, the striking workers decided to use social media to encourage people to boycott the employer’s products.
