Definition

In the UK, this is paid to pregnant women who are not eligible to receive statutory maternity pay.

Example of Use: If you are pregnant you are entitled to get either statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance. It will depend on whether you are in employment, how much you earn, and how long you have been working for your employer.
