Definition
Disciplinary procedures are a set way for an employer to deal with disciplinary issues. In the UK these disciplinary procedures should include a disciplinary hearing where the employee is given the opportunity to state their case.

Example of Use: Employers should put their disciplinary procedure clearly in writing and make it easily available to all their employees. In the UK, the disciplinary procedure should begin with a letter setting out the issue, a meeting to discuss the issue, a disciplinary decision, and a chance to appeal this decision.
